Feeling Connected Micro Grant

Ready to tackle loneliness and isolation in YOUR community? Just follow these easy steps.

If you need help to complete the online form, please let us know.

There are new criteria from 1 Apr 2026

Please make sure you have checked you are eligible before you apply

01
Complete the simple online application form

Tell us about your idea and plans and how it will help reduce loneliness and isolation.

Tip - Start small! Make it fun and easy to organise

Don't worry if you don't have every detail worked out just yet.

We can talk about those once we've received your application.

Tip - You can also get ongoing support from us and other organisers at one of our Learning Together sessions.

02
We will contact you

One of the team will contact you to chat about your idea and any other support you might need to get things started.

You'll be able to ask us about anything you're not sure of and we can offer you one to one mentoring, tailored just for you, if you need it.

We will also tell you if your application will be taken forward to the next monthly Applications Review and when you can expect a decision.

03
Application Review & Decision

We hold an Applications Review every month where we consider all the eligible applications we have received.

We will make a decision and contact you to let you know whether your application has been approved.

04
Start organising and invite people to join in!

Whatever you're organising, we want it to be meaningful and manageable - for you and for your community.

We offer lots of free support, whether you're just starting out or need help to keep going.

Tip - Get others involved so you're not the solo hero!

People like to feel useful and having a role to play helps build relationships and makes people feel more connected too.

05
Save your receipts to receive your grant payment

You will need to keep original copies of all your paid receipts or paid invoices.

Once you have them, let us know and we'll meet with you to reimburse your expenses (up to £100.00)

We will also ask you a few questions to understand:

  • the difference your initiative is making to you and the people who participate

  • the impact of the funding you have received and any other support you've had from us

06
Enjoy Your Get-Together!

We love to celebrate your efforts and sharing your story really helps to inspire others to organise something where they live too.

Don't forget to send us some pictures (if it's appropriate and with permission).

Tip - Inspire others with a post on Social Media #feelingconnectedfamily

Tag/mention us in any of your Facebook or Instagram posts @feelingconnecteddva so we can share them too.
